Igor Matushansky is currently Chief Medical Officer and Global Head of Research and Development at Hookipa Pharma Inc. Prior to joining Hookipa he was the Global Head of Translational Development for Oncology at Daiichi Sankyo and held senior positions at Novartis’ Oncology Translational Medicine and Cell and Gene Therapy Unit. Before joining pharma he was a professor at Columbia University Medical Center where he directed a molecular biology laboratory and directed the sarcoma oncology clinical program. He is from NYC, attended Columbia University for his undergraduate studies; and Albert Einstein College of Medicine for his MD and PhD. He performed his medical residency training at Weill-Cornel Medical Center and his medical oncology training and post-doctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
