Craig Gardella has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Craig began their career in 1991 as a Police Officer in the NYPD - 123rd Precinct, later transitioning to roles such as Patrol Sergeant in the NYPD - Housing Bureau #4 and Detective Squad Sergeant in the NYPD - Manhattan North Detective Operations. In 2000, Gardella became a Homicide Sergeant in the NYPD - Manhattan North Homicide Squad, and then moved on to become a Sergeant in the NYPD - Deputy Commissioner, Operations in 2006. Craig worked as a Confidential Aide in the NYPD - Chief of Detectives Office from 2010 to 2014. Simultaneously, in 2001, Gardella became the President of Operations at Stone Security Services, where they provided executive protection and event security services until 2014. Craig joined the NYPD - Hostage Negotiation Team in 2001, serving as the Executive Officer & Supervisor until 2015. Most recently, Gardella worked as the Senior Director of Security at Crestwood Midstream Partners LP, starting in December 2018.
Craig Gardella has a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from St. John's University. In addition, they obtained a Level IV (PPO) certification from the Texas Department of Public Safety in January 2019.
