James Newman

James Newman is an accomplished Mine Engineer and Geologist with extensive experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as Mine Engineer/Geologist for Central and Southern Utah at CRH, James is responsible for SEC reporting and mine design and planning. Previously, James held the position of Senior Mining Engineer at Equinox Gold Corp., where management of the technical services department and oversight of production-related work were key responsibilities. Earlier roles include Graduate Student and Research Assistant at the University of Utah, where data optimization was a focus, and Senior Mine Engineer at Murray Energy Corporation, involving collaboration with environmental groups and project management. James also has experience as a Mine Engineer at Arch Coal and as a Mining Engineering Intern at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah, as well as a Master of Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Missouri University of Science and Technology and Westminster University, respectively.
