Seth James Nielson, PhD, CISSP, currently serves as the Founder and Chief Scientist at Crimson Vista, Inc. since March 2016 and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Austin since January 2020. Previously, Seth held the position of Director of Advanced Research Projects at Johns Hopkins University, where key responsibilities included coordinating research objectives and teaching graduate courses in network security. Additional experience includes serving as Managing Partner at Ironwood Experts, consulting as Principal at Harbor Labs, and various roles at Independent Security Evaluators and Rice University Security Research Group. Seth earned a PhD in Computer Science from Rice University, an M.S. from Brigham Young University, and a B.S. from the same institution.
