Crisis Action
Janah Ncube is a highly experienced leader in international development and gender advocacy, currently serving as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Global Campaigns Director at Crisis Action since July 2016. Previously, Ncube was the Pan Africa Director at Oxfam from February 2013 to July 2016, acting as a spokesperson on African issues. Ncube also held the position of Executive Director at the Centre for Citizens' Participation on the African Union from January 2011 to January 2013, where strategic direction and organizational development were key responsibilities. Early career roles include Senior Policy Advisor at the SADC Secretariat, Gender Theme Manager at ACORD International, and Executive Director of the Women in Politics Support Unit. Ncube's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Gender & Women's Studies from the University of Bradford and current studies in Executive Leadership and Organizational Leadership at prestigious institutions, including Yale University as a 2023 Maurice Greenberg Yale World Fellow.

Crisis Action
Crisis Action is an award winning NGO that works behind the scenes to forge global coalitions among organisations and individuals to engage governments to prevent armed conflicts and uphold their obligations to protect civilians. Crisis Action has previously worked on Myanmar in 2007, on the military crackdown on peaceful protests, and in 2009, on the continued detention of Aung San Suu Kyi.
