Michiel Aarts

Michiel Aarts has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Michiel is currently working as a Business Development Manager at Crisp, a supermarket app that focuses on delivering fresh and affordable products from independent producers to families in the Netherlands. Prior to this, Michiel served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Vattenfall Solar Team, where they played a crucial role in shaping the long-term vision of the team and managing research and development projects. Michiel also worked as a Digital Strategy Consulting Intern at BLOOM, where they contributed to projects related to digital, strategy, and data. Michiel has a background in engineering and sports, having served as a Race Strategist for the Vattenfall Solar Team, where they helped design and build a solar-powered car for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Michiel has also worked as a Teacher at Lyceo, assisting high school students in Physics and Math, and as a Field Hockey Trainer at HC Rotterdam. Additionally, Michiel has gained experience in the hospitality industry as a Bar Staff member at Eetcafé Villa Kakelbont.

Michiel Aarts has an extensive education history. In 2007, they completed their Gymnasium, profiles N&T en N&G, at Erasmiaans Gymnasium Rotterdam. Michiel then pursued their passion for Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Luchtvaart- en Ruimtevaarttechniek / Aerospace Engineering from 2013 to 2017. Michiel further specialized in the field by completing a Minor in Robotics at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) from 2016 to 2017. In 2015 to 2016, they also pursued a minor in Business Studies at Leiden University. Motivated to expand their knowledge and skills, Michiel continued their education at Delft University of Technology and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from 2017 to 2018. Michiel further enhanced their expertise in the field by completing an additional Master of Science (MS) degree in Control and Operations at Delft University of Technology from 2020 to 2021. Michiel's educational background demonstrates their commitment to advancing their knowledge and skills in the aerospace engineering field.
