Garland Khuu

Garland Khuu has a diverse work experience history. Garland began their career as a Co-President at Origami Aid (ORI-AID), a non-profit club at the University of Calgary that focuses on promoting volunteerism and charity through origami. In this role, Garland was responsible for various administrative tasks, including communication with the university's Student Union, leading the executive team, organizing events, graphic design, and advertising.

Afterward, Garland joined Arts Commons as an Usher, a position they held for two years. Following that, they joined Rakuten as a Web Application Developer in the Ecosystem Services Department. During their time at Rakuten, Garland designed and developed features for a business management and analytics application using TypeScript, React, NodeJS, and other technologies. Garland also increased the test coverage of React components and created mobile responsive stylesheets using Sass and CSS.

Most recently, Garland worked at Critical Mass as a Developer and Senior Developer. In this role, they worked on various accounts, including Apple and Nissan. At Critical Mass, they maintained and fixed pages on Apple's website and implemented complex features for the Nissan account, such as deep-linking and custom video players.
