Julie Huang

Product Publication Cartographer at Critical Response Group

Julie Huang has a diverse range of work experience. Julie started their career as an Art Instructor at CHERRY HILL HUAXIA CHINESE SCHOOL INC in 2011 and continued in that role until 2014. From 2010 to 2015, they also worked as a Kung Fu Instructor at Zhao Changjun Wushu Academy. In 2016, Julie worked as an Assistant in Chemical Inventory at Ivy Fine Chemicals, where they cataloged chemicals and their properties using Excel.

In 2017, Julie took on the role of a Tech Instructor at Lavner Camps, teaching robotics and video game design to children. Julie also worked as a Computer Science Tutor at The College of New Jersey from 2017 to 2018.

In 2018, Julie joined Critical Response Group as a Product Designer-Digital Cartography. In this role, they designed geospatially accurate maps for emergency first responders and managed multiple projects using project management tools. Julie then became a Product Supervisor in 2019, overseeing product development and leading special projects. Julie also worked as a Web Designer for Publicity and Outreach at The College of New Jersey from 2018 to 2019.

In 2019, they volunteered as a SIGGRAPH 2017/2019 Student Volunteer at ACM SIGGRAPH, where they performed tasks such as checking badges and assisting attendees. Currently, Julie is working at Critical Response Group as a Product Publication Cartographer, utilizing design and geospatial software to finalize products for clients and ensuring quality assurance standards are met.

Julie Huang pursued their education starting from 2011, when they attended Cherokee High School. After completing their high school education in 2015, they went on to enroll at The College of New Jersey. From 2015 to 2019, Julie earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Interactive Multimedia and Computer Science from The College of New Jersey. Following their undergraduate studies, Julie continued their education at Clemson University from 2020 to 2023. During this time, they pursued a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Digital Production Arts.
