Terry Martin

Federal Sales at Critigen

The perfect day for Terry is one where he gets to learn something new, teach someone something they didn’t know, and then build something: a relationship, a story map, a nature trail, almost anything will do. Learning, teaching, and doing have been his mainstay for over 20 years in GIS. Terry adds enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude to the federal business development role at Critigen. Terry’s broad experience, including conservation, planning, environmental restoration, water resources, and 18 years at Esri helping the US Air Force build its enterprise GeoBase implementation, are focused on helping people get actionable intelligence and knowledge out of their GIS implementation.

Terry is focused on integration. His favorite saying is “GIS is like a cockpit of a plane that can be connected to anything and take you anywhere and empower you with situational awareness, decision support, and tools to take any action necessary.” He understands that story maps, operations dashboards, the internet of things, and robotic sensor platforms are the stuff of transformation. From California’s Channel Islands to the far flung bases of the US Air Force, Terry has seen the power that GIS brings to users and is a strong advocate for how Critigen can help government agencies be successful with GIS.
