Liz Foshage, CPA, serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Ascension. In this role she leads all aspects of finance including financial planning, financial reporting, financial oversight of tax and treasury functions and shared services. She will also have oversight for the Ascension Ministry Service Center.
Ms. Foshage previously served as Senior Vice President, Finance, since 2012, where she focused on developing the financial structure and resources needed to create many of Ascension’s non-hospital subsidiaries. Prior to that role, she served as Vice President, Finance, and provided financial oversight and support to the Ascension Ministry Markets. She joined Ascension in 1992 and has held various financial positions with increasing responsibility throughout the years. Before joining Ascension, Ms. Foshage held finance positions with Missouri Baptist Health Center, St. Louis, as well as Ernst & Young, LLP in St. Louis and New Orleans.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ms. Foshage gives of her time and thought leadership in a number of ways. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Health Care Financial Management Association as well as a member of the Loyola University Alumni Association where she was honored as the Alumni of the Year in 2013. Ms. Foshage serves on the Finance Committee and chairs the Audit Committee for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and also serves on the Finance Committee for the Daughters of Charity Province of St. Louise. Ms. Foshage has served as an adjunct professor for Healthcare leadership at Aquinas Institute since 2016 and has served on various community boards over the years. She was recognized by the St Louis Business Journal as one of the areas “Most Influential Business Women” in 2008.
Ms. Foshage earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Loyola University, New Orleans and earned her Certified Public Accountants license shortly thereafter. Ms. Foshage earned a Master of Arts in Healthcare Mission degree from Aquinas Institute in 2016. She is a member of the Ascension Leadership Academy and was a member of community 4 of the Ascension Executive Ministry Leadership formation program.
