Mike Genovese joined CAPTRUST in 2021. He has over 40 years of experience as a financial advisor working with individuals, families, foundations, and institutions. Previously, Mike was a founding partner and chief investment officer of wealth management services at Genovese Burford & Brothers (GBB). Before co-founding GBB in 1987, Mike began his career in 1979 as an independent financial planner. Mike is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council, the Western Pension Benefits Conference, and the Northern California Financial Planning Association. From 2013-2020 he was named to the Financial Times Top 400 as one of the top financial advisors in America. Barron’s Magazine has honored him with a similar distinction from 2016-2020. For the past 25 years he has served as a trustee of Mercy Foundation. Mike earned undergraduate degrees in Chemistry, Biology and Journalism from San Diego State University (SDSU) and also has completed coursework with an emphasis in Finance at the SDSU Graduate School of Business. His last tenure on the CAMA Board was from 2012-2018.
