Joy Rutherford, Ph.D., currently serves as a Research Scientist at Croda since June 2022. Prior to this position, Joy was an NIH Graduate Research Fellow at The Ohio State University from August 2017 to June 2022, where mentorship was provided by David Nagib, and also received the Ohio State University Dean's Graduate Enrichment Fellowship. Previous experiences include a research internship at Milliken & Company, where a high-value LED silicone encapsulate component was developed, and roles at Michigan State University, including a Peer Advising Leader for the Vetward Bound Diversity Program and undergraduate research positions focusing on carbon-based electrodes and chiral catalysts. Joy earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Michigan State University.
