Elise Ambrose has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Elise started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, where they organized a database for the horseshoe crab population. Elise then worked as a Summer Research Intern and Aquarist at the World Aquarium, where they conducted chemical analysis and monitored exhibit health. Elise also served as an Undergraduate International Researcher in Ecuador, studying bacterial contamination in the drinking supply.
Elise continued their education as a PhD Candidate at Saint Louis University, conducting research in the Biomedical Sciences Program and Department of Pathology. Elise'sresearch focused on the protein UCKL-1 and its involvement in tumor growth and metastasis. During this time, they also gained teaching experience as an Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis Community College, where they taught biology and microbiology.
After completing their PhD, Elise transitioned to industry roles, starting as a Poison Information Provider for Cardinal Glennon Poison Center at SSM Health Care. Elise then became a NOAA Hollings Fellow, conducting research at the NOAA Headquarters and presenting their findings at the National Headquarters. Elise also worked as a Senior Product Manager-Strategic Marketing at Adarza BioSystems, Inc., and as a Director of Product Management and Marketing at MIDSCI.
Currently, Elise holds the position of Senior Director Business Development at the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. In this role, they provide strategic guidance and direction on partnership formation and cultivation while furthering the foundation's mission and aligning goals. Elise will soon be transitioning to the role of Associate Vice President, Business Development at the same organization.
Elise Ambrose has a diverse education history. In 2000, they completed their high school education and obtained their high school diploma from John F. Kennedy Catholic High School. Elise then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from Eckerd College during the period of 2004 to 2007. Following that, Elise Ambrose attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Biomedicine with a focus on Pathology. In 2019, Elise Ambrose further enhanced their knowledge by completing a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University.
