Obed Balogun

Obed Balogun has worked in various roles in the software engineering industry since 2016. In 2021, they became the Lead Software Engineer at Crop2Cash, where they worked across cross-functional teams to build and maintain revenue generating applications. Obed also built and maintained systems that make up the Finag app, a USSD based service that digitizes financial services as well as the management of farmers supply chain. Obed optimized the database queries and codebase which improved the efficiency of the app and ultimately resulted in a 43% increase in server response time. In 2018, they started freelancing as a Full Stack Developer to develop and sharpen their software development skills. Prior to that, they were an Information Technology Intern at Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Limited in 2018 and a Student Intern at ipNX Nigeria Limited in 2016, where they worked with the IT support team to provide software and hardware solutions internally and with the Helpdesk team to handle and proffer solutions to complaints raised by members of staff.

Obed Balogun has obtained a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 2021, following a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the same institution, obtained in 2018. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including a Data Analytics Internship Certificate from Hash Analytic (2020), HTML & CSS and JavaScript from IBM (2019), Web Development from IBM (2019), a Toronto Fashion Academy Fashion Course (2018), and an Introduction to Data Science in Python from Coursera.
