Embedded Systems Engineer at Cropsy Technologies

Sean Charleston has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as an Embedded Systems Engineer at Cropsy Technologies. Prior to this, they worked at Sony Depthsensing Solutions for 6+ years as a Senior System Engineer, where they focused on system design and depth sensing. Sean also served as an Electronic Engineer at Chronoptics, contributing to the development of a 3D imaging camera. At WaikatoLink Limited, they worked as a Research Developer, developing an embedded system for a water heating project. Sean also worked as a Research Assistant at both the University of Waikato and WaikatoLink Limited, where they investigated fruit grading techniques using 3D cameras and explored the potential applications of time-of-flight cameras in the dairy industry. Before that, they worked as a Summer Student at The New Zealand Institute for Plant & Food Research Ltd, a Development Engineer at Corrective Building Surveyors, an Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering Assistant at Ballance Agri-Nutrients Ltd, and an Engineering Temp at Stratex Group.

Sean Charleston has a strong background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 2009, they attended Unitec | Te Pūkenga and obtained a Certificate of Applied Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Sean went on to pursue higher education at The University of Waikato, where they completed their Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (B.E.(Hons)) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2010 to 2013. Continuing their academic journey, Sean then pursued a Master of Engineering with First Class Honours (M.E.(Hons)) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Waikato between 2014 and 2015.
