Josh Symonds

Josh Symonds has over 15 years of work experience in the technology field. Josh began their career in 2006 as a Rails Developer & Application Specialist for GlobalRisk Corporation. In 2008, they moved to Pathfinder Development as a Senior Consultant, where they provided custom software development and user experience design for clients ranging from early stage start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. In 2009, Josh joined Backstop Solutions Group as a New Products Developer. In 2010, they moved to Synthetic Corp as the Web Director, managing their web presence, including all API endpoints and static sites. In 2011, they founded and became the CTO of Symonds & Son. In 2012, Josh worked as the CTO and Cofounder of GirlsGuideTo and an Architect for Everest. From 2015 to 2019, they were the Chief Information Security Officer at M1 Finance, where they created a secure infrastructure from scratch on AWS and installed and managed Kubernetes. In 2021, Josh joined CrossnoKaye as the Lead DevOps Engineer.

Josh Symonds received a Bachelor of Science in East Asian Languages and Civilization from the University of Chicago in 2005, after having attended the school from 2001.
