Amanda French

Amanda French is an accomplished technical community manager with extensive experience in digital humanities, community engagement, and project leadership. Currently serving as a Technical Community Manager for the Research Organization Registry (ROR) at both ROR and Crossref since May 2022, Amanda's prior roles include Community Lead for The COVID Tracking Project, where contributions were pivotal in the data-driven responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Community Manager for Frankenreads, where efforts resulted in a successful global initiative. Amanda has also held significant leadership positions, including Director of Resilient Networks for Inclusive Digital Humanities at The George Washington University and Director of Digital Research Services at Virginia Tech, where innovations in digital scholarship were introduced. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. and Master's degree in English from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, Amanda is recognized for their impactful work in advancing digital humanities initiatives and securing substantial funding through grant writing.
