Lucas Moody has extensive experience in development and advocacy within the counseling and wellness sector. Currently serving as Development Manager and formerly as Development Director at CrossWinds Counseling & Wellness since November 2019, Lucas has a strong background in child advocacy as evident from the role of Child Advocacy Center and Development Director at SOS, Inc. from October 2013 to November 2019. Prior experience includes a position as Community Coordinator at Mid KS Cap Inc, where Lucas provided resources to low-income families and facilitated state-wide training with a poverty simulation kit. Lucas began a career in social services as TRAIL Lead at TFI Family Services from December 2006 to October 2010. Lucas holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Emporia State University, earned between 2008 and 2010, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the same university, completed in 2005.

CrossWinds Counseling & Wellness is a non-profit organization, serving the residents of East Central Kansas since 1960. We are the area's only comprehensive mental health agency that helps people of all ages achieve wellness. CrossWinds is licensed by the State of Kansas as a community mental health center (CMHC) and as a certified substance abuse safety action program. Our mission is to provide dynamic, culturally sensitive, high-quality behavioral health care to residents of Chase, Coffey, Greenwood, Lyon, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties in the most effective, caring and efficient manner. CrossWinds currently employs 155 people including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, professional counselors, case managers, attendant care workers, and peer support specialists who focus on child, adolescent, adult and geriatric behavioral healthcare.
