Mary Elaine Mahaffey has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Mary Elaine began their career at the Atlanta Center for Medical Research as a Clinical Research Assistant in 2012, and then moved to a Clinical Research Coordinator position in 2013. In the same year, they also took on a Violin Instructor role at Eclectic Music and a Volunteer Research Assistant role at Emory University School of Medicine. In 2015, they worked as a Music Therapy Intern at Hebrew SeniorLife. In 2016, they worked as a Proctor for Summer Housing at Harvard University and a Jr. Full-Stack Web Developer at Launch Academy, Inc. In 2017, they worked as a Software Engineer at Bullhorn. Finally, from 2018 to 2021, they served on the Board of Directors and as an Educator at Panajachel Colegio Internacional, and currently works as a Customer Success Specialist at Crossword Hobbyist.

Mary Elaine Mahaffey attended Vanderbilt University from 2006 to 2008, where they studied Human and Organizational Development. Mary Elaine then attended Clemson University from 2009 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology. In 2015, they attended Lesley University to study Music Therapy.
