Maggie Wood

Maggie Wood has a diverse range of work experience. Maggie began their career in 2014 as a Choir Teacher at Britannia Secondary School, where they volunteered to teach choir to students with mental health and addiction problems. In 2015, they worked as a Copywriter for a social innovations firm. Maggie then worked as a Content Writer on contract for Career Cruising in 2016. During that same year, they also taught children at Oxford Learning Centres Inc., providing instruction in subjects such as writing, English, French, basic math, and other subjects as needed. From 2016 to 2018, they taught child actors on set for film and television as well as theatre at Laurelwood Inc., adapting the curriculum individually for each student. Maggie then joined Shopify in 2018 as a Merchant Success professional, where they managed the overhaul of the support workflow and structure, facilitated cross-departmental workshops and learning sessions, trained new recruits, and provided specialized merchant support on a Shopify-owned app. Maggie is currently working at Crowdmark as a Customer Success Manager, where they support educators in streamlining assessment and grading processes, provides onboarding resources and training, offers technical support, manages knowledge, creates user-facing content, maintains the brochure site and help desk, handles enterprise account maintenance, and contributes to product development and quality testing.

Maggie Wood has a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in English/Language Arts Teacher Education from The University of British Columbia, which they obtained from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (H.B.A.) in English and History from the University of Toronto, from 2004 to 2008. Maggie also has a Bachelor of Arts - BA (Honours) in English and History from the University of Toronto, obtained during the same period. In addition to their degrees, Maggie holds certifications such as the BC TRB Teaching License from the British Columbia Ministry of Education and the Ontario Teaching License from the Ontario College of Teachers.
