Samuel Brightwell

Vice President, Risk Management at Crowley

Samuel Brightwell has extensive experience in risk management and insurance. Samuel began their career in 2003 as a Compounder/Receiving at Arylessence, Inc. In 2007, they interned at AIG. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Risk & Financial Analyst at McDermott International Inc., where they managed insurance coverages, negotiated contractual agreements, and implemented an Enterprise Risk Management program. From 2010 to 2019, they held various roles at Babcock & Wilcox, including Director of Risk Management & Insurance, Manager of Corporate Finance and Enterprise Risk, and Enterprise Risk Management Program Manager. In these positions, they oversaw global insurance and risk management programs, managed letters of credit and surety bonds portfolios, and implemented an ERM framework. Since 2019, they have been working at Crowley, first as a Director of Risk Management and currently as the Vice President of Risk Management. In their current role, they are responsible for optimizing coverage, reviewing contracts for risk allocation, and providing risk management advisement for projects and mergers and acquisitions.

Samuel Brightwell received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Corporate Finance and Project Management from Wingate University in 2016. Before that, they obtained a BBA degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia - Terry College of Business in 2008. Additionally, they also earned a BBA degree in Finance from the same university in 2008.
