Olivia Thomas

Head of Marine Planning at Crown Estate

Olivia joined The Crown Estate in 2008 and is now the Head of Marine Planning within the Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure portfolio.

Olivia leads the cross-cutting marine planning team on the provision of specialist planning, policy and consenting advice; risk management and unlocking business opportunities to the offshore Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure portfolio. Working across EU, UK and Devolved Government policy and engaging with a broad range of senior stakeholders, Olivia’s team seeks to maximise opportunities for partnership working and support our customer working offshore with other marine users.

Olivia’s work at The Crown Estate began in the Offshore Wind team for the first year but the remaining time as been in marine policy related positions. Prior to this, she worked for Transport for London in programme change control and in the field of analytical science.

Olivia holds a BSc (Hons) First Class degree in Forensic Science from University of Kent and an MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management from University of Portsmouth.
