Ashish Agarwal

Ashish Agarwal is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Cruise since May 2023. Previously, Ashish was an AI Lead at Waymo from July 2021 to May 2023, overseeing infrastructure and modeling teams for trajectory prediction and data mining. Ashish spent 18 years at Google, contributing significantly in various roles including Technical Lead Manager for TensorFlow, where efforts focused on enhancing the API stack and pioneering innovations such as eager execution and auto-vectorization. As a member of the Google Brain team, Ashish played a crucial role in integrating deep learning into Google’s Search and Ads systems. Additionally, Ashish led advancements in Google Adwords, including the development of large-scale logistic regression models and the creation of a live A/B experimentation framework. Ashish holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
