Sami Tas

Sami Tas is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience across multiple high-impact roles in technology companies. Currently serving as Engineering Lead for AV Guide at Cruise since February 2023, Sami actively supports initiatives in remote assistance, customer support, connectivity, and marketplace management. Prior to this, Sami held the position of Engineering Lead for XR People at Meta from October 2019 to January 2023, focusing on the development of immersive experiences within the metaverse. Earlier roles include Director of Engineering for News Feed & Notifications at Facebook, where Sami oversaw systems utilized by billions, and contributions as a Software Engineer at BiTaksi, where early development efforts led to the creation of Turkey's leading ride-hailing app. Sami also served as CEO & CTO at Optimum Transportation Solutions, driving innovations in public transportation systems. Education was completed at Boğaziçi University.
