Gary Ng

Gary Ng has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Gary currently serves as the Head of Data Science & Growth at Cruisebound, Inc. since March 2023. Prior to this, they were a Data Science Manager at Instagram from April 2022 to March 2023.

Before their role at Instagram, Gary worked as the Director of Tennis Analytics at Big League Advantage from June 2020 to April 2022. Gary also held the position of Head of Data Science and Analytics at Rocket Travel, Inc, a Booking Holdings Company, from July 2017 to June 2020.

In addition to these roles, Gary has experience as a Data Scientist at Rocket Travel, Inc from May 2016 to July 2017, and as a Strategy Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting from September 2015 to March 2016.

Gary's early career includes roles as a Data Science Intern at Wego.com in July 2015, a Consumer Marketing Intern at PayPal from June 2014 to September 2014, and a Market Risk Analyst at Deutsche Bank from September 2011 to May 2013. Gary also interned as a Risk Analytics Intern at Deutsche Bank in June 2010.

Gary's career began as an Actuarial Intern at UOB Life Assurance in December 2006 and concluded in July 2007.

Gary Ng has a comprehensive education history that includes various degrees and certifications. Gary obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science from NYU Center for Data Science, which they completed from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, Gary earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Strategy and Marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business between 2013 and 2015. Gary also holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics (with a minor in Psychology) from Connecticut College, which they completed from 2007 to 2011.

Additionally, Gary has pursued several educational opportunities abroad. In 2003 and 2004, they completed the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A Level program at Raffles Institution. In 2009, they became a visiting student at UCL, where they studied Economics. In 2011, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a visiting student, focusing on the LSE-PKU Summer School. Furthermore, in 2015, Gary became an exchange student at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, studying Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.

Gary has also acquired additional certifications to complement their education. In 2018, they completed the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera. In 2017, they obtained certifications in "Big Data with Hadoop and Spark" from NYC Data Science Academy and "Bayesian Statistics: From Concept to Data Analysis" from Coursera.
