Bereavement Support Volunteer at Cruse Bereavement Care

Maria D. is an experienced therapist currently facilitating school-based bereavement support groups at Parenting 2000, where responsibilities include one-on-one children and young people (CYP) support, client assessment, and wellbeing support. Maria has served as a bereavement support volunteer at Cruse Bereavement Care, providing support via Zoom and telephone, and has previously worked as a play/youth worker at TLC: Talk, Listen, Change, where development of the Body, Mind Others programme was undertaken. Additional relevant experience includes a role as a trainee creative and expressive therapist at Parenting 2000, a volunteer listener for Samaritans, and serving as a co-opted school governor at Lostock College. Maria holds a Master of Science in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Edge Hill University, along with a series of qualifications in counseling psychology and education from Keele University, The Manchester College, and Charles Sturt University.
