Randy Kersten began their work experience in 2001 as a Department Manager at The Home Depot, where they were responsible for maintaining customer service standards and training associates. Randy then transitioned to the role of Assistant Manager, where they worked with the Store Manager to drive sales and provide leadership. In 2007, they worked as a Customer Support Specialist Intern at Harley-Davidson Motor Company, overseeing computer workstation maintenance and resolving operational issues. In 2009, they joined Crystal Computer Consulting as a Software Engineer, taking ownership of software development projects for clients. Randy then progressed to the role of Software Development Manager, where they coordinated resources and processes for software delivery. Most recently, they served as the Director of Operations, overseeing various support services and improving operational systems. In February 2020, they became the Vice President of Crystal Computer Consulting.

Randy Kersten's education history begins with their high school years at Craig High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they pursued a degree in Programming at Blackhawk Technical College from 2000 to 2002. Randy then furthered their education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from 2006 to 2009, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
