Gene Wolanin began their career in 1983 as an Electronic Warfare Signals Intelligence Analyst for the US Army. In 1990, they moved to Spectrum Systems, Inc as a Program Manager/Lead Systems Administrator. In 1994, they joined the National Security Agency as an IT Services Division Chief and later an IT Services Branch Chief. In 2001, they began working for Eagle Alliance/CSC as a Senior Manager in the Architecture & Implementation Group/Distributed Computing. In 2009, they became Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of CS2 Consulting, LLC, where they were responsible for the daily business operations, contract management, staffing, business development/capture, contract pricing & proposal support, and prime and subcontract partnership and business strategy. Gene worked to identify growth and develop market opportunities, coordinate all business operations, and provide leadership and guidance to the company.

Gene Wolanin attended Wright State University from 1980 to 1982, where they studied Business Management. From 1987 to 1990, they attended the University of Maryland Global Campus, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management. In 1998, they attended the National Defense University/IRMC in Ft. McNair, Washington DC, where they studied Information Technology Management. In 2008, they obtained the ITIL V3 Foundation certification from http://www.itil-officialsite.com/.
