Michel Courval

Président at CSched

Mr. Courval is a HASTUS expert who has used the software to solve a diverse variety of scheduling challenges that range from modeling intricate European work rules to improving the efficiency through very simple scheduling solutions and through incremental adjustments to the scheduling software. Endeavouring to apply his HASTUS expertise to ongoing production work at agencies, Mr. Courval began consulting in 2003.

He gained his experience with the HASTUS scheduling system during his six years of employment with GIRO, Inc., the software vendor. Early in his career, he focused on running time and minimum recovery (layover) time analysis, blocking, and run cutting for North American agencies of all sizes operating bus and rail services in urban and suburban environments. He assisted them in implementing significant corridor reconfigurations resulting from major planning studies (known as a Comprehensive Operations Analysis, or COA). He applied a disciplined approach by concentrating on efficiency metrics during the service planning process so that the resulting schedules would yield expected savings.
