Mariana Hopper

Senior Research Scientist and Team Leader

Mariana Hopper (nee Campos) is a highly accomplished Group Leader and Senior Research Scientist currently overseeing over 50 employees at CSIRO, where they align research with strategic goals for the Biosecurity Program. They previously held a position as a Biosecurity Research Officer and Biosecurity Research Fellow at Murdoch University from 2016 to 2018. Mariana has served as a member of the Subcommittee on National Plant Health Surveillance since 2022 and has extensive experience as a scientific advisor and product manager at Uniscience from 2004 to 2005. Their academic credentials include a PhD in Plant Ecophysiology from The University of Western Australia, along with a Master's in Plant Ecology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
