Christopher Hernandez-Roy is a senior fellow and deputy director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. They have conducted extensive research on democratic backsliding, transnational organized crime, and economic security in the Western Hemisphere. Previously, they held senior leadership roles at the Organization of American States, where they directed initiatives on public security and sustainable democracy, and advised on political affairs and human rights. Christopher holds a B.A. in History from Carleton University and an M.Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge.
