Daniel Byman is an educator and analyst currently serving as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of State. They have held various senior roles, including Vice Dean and Director of the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, where they taught and researched on counterterrorism, terrorism, and Middle East security issues. With extensive experience at the Brookings Institution as a Senior Fellow, Byman has contributed to scholarship and analysis on national security and foreign policy, also serving as a Foreign Policy Editor for the Lawfare Institute.
