Federico Steinberg is the Prince of Asturias Distinguished Visiting Professor at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a Senior Fellow at the Elcano Royal Institute. Currently, they serve as a Visiting Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (on leave). From 2019 to 2024, Federico was a Special Adviser to Josep Borrell, the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. They have extensive consulting experience with the World Bank and the United Nations and have published widely in academic journals while also contributing to Spanish media. Federico holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and master's degrees from both the London School of Economics and Columbia University.
