Ian Williams

Ian Williams is a Strategy Analyst at the Office of the Secretary of Defense and a fellow in the International Security Program at CSIS, where they focus on missile defense, strategic forces, and deterrence. They have co-authored the significant CSIS study, Missile Defense 2020, and serve as managing editor for the CSIS website Missile Threat. Ian's expertise is reflected in publications like Defense News and their appearances on major news outlets including CNN and NPR. Previously, they held the position of Director of Advocacy at the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance and have interned at various institutions, including the Arms Control Association and the Center for the Study of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Ian holds a B.A. from Southern Illinois University and an M.S. in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University.
