Mark Schneider is a senior advisor at both the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Pan American Development Foundation, roles they have held since 2017 and 2021, respectively. Previously, Schneider served as the Senior Vice President and Senior Advisor at the International Crisis Group from 2001 to 2017, focusing on conflict prevention and reconstruction. With extensive experience in U.S. foreign policy, they held various positions including Director of the Peace Corps and Assistant Administrator for Latin America at USAID. Schneider holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University, and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from American University.
