Scott Kennedy is the Senior Adviser and Trustee Chair in Chinese Business & Economics at the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), where they have worked since 2015. Previously, Kennedy served as Deputy Director of the Freeman Chair in China Studies at CSIS and held an Associate Professor position at Indiana University Bloomington from 2000 to 2014. They also directed the IU Research Center for Chinese Politics & Business during that time and were a visiting professor at the University of California at San Diego in 2005. Kennedy earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from George Washington University between 1995 and 2002 and began their career as a Research Assistant at The Brookings Institution from 1993 to 1997.
