SUJAI SHIVAKUMAR

Sujai Shivakumar, Ph.D., is a Senior Fellow and Director of Renewing American Innovation at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where they leverage over two decades of experience in U.S. competitiveness and innovation policy. They previously directed the Innovation Policy Forum at the National Academies and contributed to numerous studies on advanced manufacturing, workforce development, and entrepreneurship. Sujai has authored and co-authored impactful publications, including work with Nobel Laureate Elinor Ostrom, and has testified before the Senate regarding innovation policies. They hold a Ph.D. in Political Economy from George Mason University and served as an Earhart Foundation Scholar at Indiana University Bloomington.
