Maria Bollinger is a Marine Spatial Ecologist at CSS since July 2019, with a strong background in biological science and GIS analysis acquired during previous roles at the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Maria's master's thesis focused on using ROV footage to assess biodiversity in South Texas while incorporating molecular techniques for coral species identification and teaching introductory biology labs. Additional experience includes roles as a Coastal Fisheries Intern, Water/Environmental Education Specialist, and Program Director for the Caribbean Student Environmental Alliance, emphasizing environmental education and community engagement. Maria holds a Master’s Degree in Biology from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
