Allie Smith is currently serving as a CSTE Applied Epidemiology Fellow at the California Department of Public Health, focusing on projects related to heavy metal surveillance and occupational health. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Instructor at UC Berkeley School of Public Health, where Allie led discussions for an undergraduate epidemiology course, and as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, working on community respiratory health research. Allie also interned with the Environmental Health Committee of Physicians for Social Responsibility and has held various research positions throughout academic and professional settings, including investment roles concentrated on worker-owned businesses in Nicaragua. Allie holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University.
