Gillian A. Haney

Gillian A. Haney serves as the Director of Surveillance and Informatics at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists since July 2022. Prior to this role, Haney was the Director of the Division of Surveillance, Analytics, and Informatics at the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Sciences, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, where management of a team of over 60 professionals ensured effective infectious disease surveillance for approximately 90 diseases from January 2006 to July 2022. Haney's career in public health began as the Director of Surveillance and an Epidemiologist at the Bureau of Infectious Disease, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, from 1997 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and International Health from Boston University School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and International Studies from Macalester College.
