Composition Faculty at CSU Channel Islands

Kathleen Klompien, Ph.D., currently serves as the Faculty Director of Learning Communities at California State University Channel Islands, a position that will commence in January 2023. Prior to this role, Kathleen Klompien was a Composition Faculty and the Director of the University Writing Center at California State University, Los Angeles, from August 2003 to August 2005. Kathleen Klompien also held the position of Interim Director of the University Writing Center at California State University, Los Angeles, and was the Writing Programs Coordinator at Loyola Marymount University from August 1999 to August 2003. Additionally, Kathleen Klompien contributed to international education as an English Teacher with the Peace Corps from May 1991 to May 1993. Kathleen Klompien earned a Ph.D. in English Composition and TESOL from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and holds a Master’s degree in English Composition, Rhetoric, and Literacy from California State University, Los Angeles, along with a Bachelor's degree in English from Calvin University.
