Eric "Derby" Bailey has held a variety of roles in the cyber security industry since 2008. Starting in 2008, they were the Cyber Operations Flight Commander at the 561st Network Operations Squadron Detachment 1, where they led 60 personnel in operating and defending a $400 million Pacific Theater network. In 2009, they were the Chief of Theater Information Assurance at the 609th Air Operations Center, where they led a team of personnel executing network defense and information assurance activities for a $1 billion network covering 11 Air Force Central Command sites. In 2011, they were the Defensive Cyber Operations Flight Commander and Air Force Weapons School Instructor at the 328th Weapons Squadron, where they were named Top Instructor and Academic Instructor by students in multiple classes. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Chief of Exercises Branch and Chief of Weapons & Tactics Branch at Air Force Space Command, where they led 15 personnel in planning and executing Joint Chiefs of Staff and Air Force exercises and demonstrations with a $4.7 million budget. In 2016, they were the Chief Security Officer at CT Cubed Inc., where they were responsible for executive driving solution development and implementation for customers across industry verticals. In 2017, they were a Senior Cyber Consultant at PatchPlus Consulting, Inc. In 2018, they were the Chief Information Officer and Special Projects at Mosaic451, where they successfully engineered and implemented network security solutions for 46 customers. Finally, in 2019, they were the Director of Cyberspace Operations at PatchPlus Consulting, Inc., where they drove advanced cyberspace and non-kinetic operations solutions for customers across the Department of Defense.

Eric "Derby" Bailey has a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Information Systems / Information Security from Bellevue University, obtained between 2005 and 2008. Eric "Derby"​ also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Management Information Systems from Bellevue University, obtained between 2002 and 2003. Additionally, Eric has obtained a number of certifications, including a Certified EC-Council Instructor from EC-Council in May 2019, a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) from EC-Council in April 2019, a Weapons Officer from USAF Weapons School in June 2012, a GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN) from GIAC in March 2011, a GIAC Advisory Board from GIAC in January 2011, a GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC in January 2011, and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional from (ISC)² in August 2009.
