Marcela Moreira is an experienced professional in the fields of plant genetics and biotechnology. Currently serving as Assistente de Pesquisa II at CTC - Centro de Tecnologia Canavieira since August 2022, Marcela specializes in optimizing genetic transformation protocols, producing genetically modified sugarcane varieties, and developing embryogenic callus protocols. Prior experience includes work at Instituto Agronômico de Campinas - Centro de Cana, where Marcela focused on enhancing productivity and reducing production costs in the biofactory of indexed seedlings. Earlier roles involved contributing to projects on genetically modified sugarcane varieties during an internship at GranBio and administrative support at Fonseca, Freitas E Monico Advogados Associados and the Secretária de Assistência Social. Marcela holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Licentiate in Biological Sciences from Centro Universitário Barão de Mauá, as well as ongoing postgraduate studies in Plant Physiology at Escola Superior de Agricultura "Luiz de Queiroz."
