James Hanson is currently the Director of Infrastructure & Natural Resources at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, a position they have held since 2022, having previously served as Principal in the same department from 2018 to 2022 and as an Investment Associate. They began their career as a Student Treasury Analyst at Suncor Energy from 2011 to 2012 and later worked as an Analyst in Investment Banking at Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd. from 2014 to 2015. In addition to their current role, James serves as a Board Member for both Sustainable Energy Infra Trust and Cubico Sustainable Investments. They are pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, with studies ongoing since 2019, and previously earned the same designation while attending the University of Calgary from 2009 to 2013.
