Emily Hughes has over 10 years of professional experience. Emily began their career in 2011 with City of New Orleans as a Cities of Service Initiative AmeriCorps VISTA. Emily then worked at City of Bloomington, IN as a Service Corps Fellow - Department of Community and Family Resources from 2013 to 2015. Emily joined Grant Thornton Public Sector in 2015 as an Associate and was promoted to Senior Associate. In 2021, they joined CUCollaborate as an Advisory Manager and was later promoted to Advisory Director.

Emily Hughes obtained a Master of Public Administration - MPA from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, with a field of study in Public Financial Management. Emily also obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a field of study in Anthropology. In March of 2019, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
