Anne Cockburn

Board Member at Culford School

Anne Cockburn is a Professor Emerita at the University of East Anglia. She was educated at independent schools in Edinburgh and gained professional qualifications and degrees at the universities of St Andrews, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and East Anglia.

Having taught in Edinburgh she became a Research Officer at Lancaster University before moving to Norfolk to become a primary teacher educator and, in time, Head of the Primary Post Graduate in Education Programme and Dean of the School of Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of East Anglia.

Anne retired from teaching in 2013 but maintains several research interests including the teaching and learning of mathematics in the earliest years of schooling, teacher stress, performance and well-being.

Anne has experienced both the joys and challenges of being a governor in two highly effective and efficient establishments and is delighted to be joining the team at Culford School.
