Renier Pretorius has a strong background in IT leadership and strategy, with roles ranging from Chief Technology Officer to Director of Architecture and Solution Delivery Manager. In their most recent position as Group IT Director at Culina Group Limited, they are responsible for leading and developing a technology team focused on software engineering and development. Prior to that, they served as IT Director at Unipart Logistics, where they led a team focused on delivering warehouse and transport systems for major companies. Renier has also held leadership positions at Xercise4Less, WHSmith, Avis Budget Group International, Leopard Business Solutions, Helveta, Barclays Bank, and Paltrack, where they gained extensive experience in IT strategy, solution architecture, and software development.
Renier Pretorius completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Information Technology from the University of Johannesburg, which they attended from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Renier obtained several additional certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they completed the IT Leadership Academy from CEB. In 2014, they obtained the Manager's Journey certification from Masterclass Training Ltd, the TOGAF 9 Practitioner certification from The Open Group, and the ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. In 2010, Renier received the Prince2 Registered Practitioner certification from APM Group.
