Laura Helms

Laura Helms has a wealth of experience in digital content management and project management. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a Mosaic Muralist Assistant for Hector Hernandez, Arts and Cultural Services LLC, where they trained apprentices and aided in quality control and installation. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Technical Project Manager & Internal Systems Specialist for Culture Foundry, managing WordPress maintenance and greenfield builds, cross-platform database migrations, headless React Application greenfield builds and maintenance, Drupal 6-9 maintenance, Craft CMS maintenance, and ModX maintenance. In 2017, they were a Digital Content Manager for CTL Corporation, where they wrote optimized content, created and sent out monthly press releases, managed social media feeds, maintained and updated the blog, and ran multiple monthly email campaigns. From 2016 to present, they have also been a Freelance Content Specialist, where they create content to increase web presence and SEO to attract target demographics. Lastly, from 2013 to 2016, they were an Outreach & Content Manager for Evolve Fit Wear, where they drove SEO traffic by content-rich writing for individual brands, products, and blog.

Laura Helms obtained their Associate's degree from Portland Community College between 2004 and 2007. Laura then attended Portland State University from 2008 to 2012, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Applied Linguistics. In 2009, they completed a T.E.S.O.L. Practicum in Morelia, Michoácan Mexico, and received a Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor certification. In 2017, they obtained their Google Premier Partner Marketing Certification from Google, Social Marketing Tools. Laura also holds a TESOL Certification from Portland State University.
