Cumberland Lodge
Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park is a charity that empowers people to tackle the causes and effects of social division. We challenge silo thinking by enabling people to engage in meaningful dialogue and debate on pressing social and ethical issues, in an inclusive environment. We do this by connecting and inspiring leaders and influencers, students, academics and community practitioners. We run an annual series of round-table conferences, panel debates, workshops and retreats, to inspire people to exchange views and generate creative ideas that can improve awareness and understanding and ultimately influence policy. Since our establishment in the aftermath of World War II, we have been working with people of all backgrounds, ages and perspectives to help build more peaceful, open and inclusive societies. Our thriving educational programme challenges students of all ages, from school children to PhD students and early career researchers, to think about the social value of their academic work and about how they can tackle social divisions and contribute to the betterment of society. Our charitable work is supported by income from hiring out our facilities for conferences, meetings and special events. Based in a stunning 17th century, former royal residence, with excellent transport links, we offer a truly distinctive setting for residential or day conferences, away days, retreats, professional development courses, meetings and weddings. Our guests enjoy the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of an English country house, with exceptional quality of service, excellent food, and all the facilities expected of a modern conference centre. We offer flexible meeting spaces spread across three historic buildings, including large conference rooms with linked breakout rooms, elegant reception rooms, private meeting spaces, indoor and outdoor dining options, and an open-air woodland seminar space. We are also licensed for civil wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.
