Chelsea J. Sterne

Chelsea J. Sterne, Ph.D., currently serves as the Program Director and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Cumberland University since June 2023. Previously, Chelsea held positions as an Instructor and Doctoral Candidate at The University of Texas at San Antonio from August 2020 to June 2023 and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at UT Health San Antonio during the same period. Chelsea's experience includes serving as a Graduate Student at the University of South Carolina Aiken from August 2018 to August 2020 and as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line from October 2016 to December 2018. Chelsea's military background includes roles as a Company Commander and Human Resources Officer in the US Army from May 2014 to November 2017. Earlier professional experience includes a supervisory role at Operation Gratitude from June 2008 to May 2014 and a position as a Veterinary Nurse at Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 2013. Chelsea holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Science in Applied Clinical Psychology from the University of South Carolina Aiken, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanderbilt University.
